The Lemon Tree Role-Play Story

Once upon a time, a Saiya-jin (a race from Dragonball Z) named Talon wandered about on a lovely and verdant planet. She came upon a beautiful bower, sat down and admired the beautiful bed of petals and leaves, basked in the shade of the flowering trees and enjoyed the scent of the flora.

Onna the polymorph noticed Talon sitting in the lovely place, changed into Neko-jin (cat person) form, and scampered in to join Talon. Onna snuggled into the bed and purred while Talon continued to admire the enchanting place.

Little did either of them know this bower was extra-special and private.

This pretty little planet had been claimed by A'lestrel, a Saiya-jin and R'ren'nkh'ia-jin hybrid. The bower had been designed by A'lestrel as a gift for the hybrid's bond-mate, Lutra the tenshi. You can see who these lovely people are at this link: http://www.wordwrights.co.uk/lnl.html.

A'lestrel was livid when the two trespassers were discovered and chased them across a meadow and finally up a large tree. There they both perched for a long time, hiding from the frightening golden glare of the displeased hybrid.

Eventually, night came and they fitfully slept while still hanging on to the large branches of the tree. When morning dawned, they noticed A'lestrel had left, but they were apprehensive about leaving immediately. They also decided they needed to do something to say they were sorry. They really did not mean any harm and wanted to be friends, or at least be in good graces, with both A'lestrel and Lutra.

The two decided the best way to ask forgiveness would be to provide a feast for the two. So they crawled down the tree and ran off to prepare the meal. They packed a few covered baskets full of delicious foods and drinks and placed them close (but not too close) to the bower. Then they ran off to a safe distance and hoped their offering would be received favorably.

After the feast, A'lestrel granted forgiveness to the two, with a stern warning to not cross privacy lines again. Talon and Onna agreed wholeheartedly and were pleased the meal had been tasty for the bond-mates.

The conversation then changed to ways to eat and drink hamtaro 'ham-hams'. (The following conversation courtesy of A'lestrel and Lutra):

Lutra: I think I'd like to get a blender.

A'lestrel: [hopeful grin] The blender is for making hamtaro milk shakes, yes?

Lutra: [*squeak!* NO!!]

A'lestrel: [frowns pensively at Talon...] Now, if tenshi would declare the lemon tree Saiya-jin territory, you could claim diplomatic immunity, and I could make ham-ham milkshakes (thickshakes, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, whatever) and hand them up the tree... And sit on a lower branch to drink/eat my own... [smirks, pondering recipes for devilled ham-hams, ham-ham casserole, deep fried ham-ham with lemon sauce...]

Lutra: [*smirk* I will be happy to declare the lemon tree Saiya-jin territory IF A'lestrel wears a waitresses uniform. Pink, I think, complete with jaunty little cap and frilly apron...]

Talon and Onna found themselves running a bistro and bar called the Liquid Rodent, which is located at the Lemon Tree, an extremely large tree on A'lestrel's planet. Many people frequent the Liquid Rodent because of the fine foods and beverages Talon and Onna deliver. Menus change daily as fresh ingredients are made available. Picnic baskets are available, as well as a popular breakfast buffet which caters to many different races' tastes.

The Terran Art Deco-inspired bar is fully-stocked with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic libations for many tastes. One of the Liquid Rodent's House Specialty Drinks is Pureed Ham-Ham, which helped inspire the bar/bistro's name.

The chefs include Korin (DBZ), Eiri (Gravitation) and Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin), all who whip up tasty foods for the variety of guests who frequent the bistro.

One of the main features of the establishment are the bishie wait staff. Bottom-squeezing is the norm and the staff understands it means nothing, just innocent flirting. In fact, the majority of the staff members are pair-bonded.

The handpicked wait staff includes Heero, Duo, Trowa, Quatre and Wufei (Gundam Wing), Shuichi (Gravitation), Riki (Ai no Kusabi) and Mijuku (OC-Black Dragon). The bar staff includes Sano (Rurouni Kenshin). Occasionally, Nappa (DBZ) acts as a bouncer.

When it was discovered Eiri and Shiyuuichi's birthdays were a few months apart, Onna decided to send them on holiday to an island on a pleasure planet to celebrate. Her being co-owner of the planet guaranteed luxury accommodations and a private island for the two, but she did not tell the birthday boys about this little-known fact.

The most recent chef hire has been Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin), who came on board when Eiri was sent on holiday. The latest bartender is Kenshin's bond-mate, Sanosuke (Rurouni Kenshin), who is embarrassed by the uniforms so he has been allowed to stay behind the bar for the moment.

As The Lemon Tree gained popularity, it branched off from not just being a food and drink establishment. It started to provide places to sleep for the night. It has comfortable sleeping rooms in the shape of large lemons, perfect for those guests who find themselves too full or too drunk to move very far.

Because no transports or other spacecraft are allowed to land on the planet, which would cause havoc to the delicate environment, a transporter was installed.

Eiri and Shiyuuichi were surprised to be presented with a holiday to a pleasure planet. When they got to their vacation residence, they found this note waiting for them, tacked on the door:

Hello, loves!

Okay, so here are some of the highlights of this place:

You will be alone on the island. No room service, no turn-down service, no maid service. You spill it, you wipe it up.

Clothes are optional. Polynesian sarongs are in the bedroom closet on a shelf if you feel like going native 'formal'.

The weather is temperate and no air conditioning is needed. Just open the windows to let the sea breezes in.

The porch wraps around the entire house and each room has a door opening on to it. You can leave the doors open, too. No one will be around to disturb you.

The kitchen is fully stocked for ten days. Latest kitchen appliances and such are in place. Utilities and plumbing are all high-tech and fully functional under the primitive facade.

Fishing tackle is located in the beach supply hut if you want to catch your lunch. You can also find various things like snorkeling and other sports equipment, towels, blankets and pillows, flotation gear, emergency rescue equipment, first aid kit, beach umbrellas, etc.

Note the cushioned, super-large four-person hammock close to the front door right on the beach. It is a lovely place to nap in the afternoon or sleep under the stars at night.

Bed linens and extra pillows are in the linen closet in the hall. I especially like how the bedroom is set up so three walls have French doors you can open to the ocean view and breezes.

In case of emergency, the planet guard staff can be there in less than a minute. The com is located in the burl wood cabinet in the main room. You could just port back here to the Rodent, however, the guard staff have full state-of-the-art medical facilities right there. I do not expect anything to happen, but just in case, you will have peace of mind.

Digi camera and laptop are stashed in the main room desk. I do expect to see lots of pictures when you get back!

Now, your job is to relax, soak up the sun and revel in each other.
