Failure at Inking

So one of the days I took off work specifically to draw I decided to work on basic manga styles and headshots.

I drew some girlie heads then decided to try my luck with another Vejiita headshot, this time with the plan to ink the drawing.

After sketching I pulled out the four pigment liners (Staedtler brand) I had purchased, sizes 07, 05, 01 and 005.

I began by working the girlie heads first. (Note: I may post these pieces of crap later in a different section...) I got really impatient really quickly so I jumped on the Vejiita head and began to ink the lines.

After the initial inking of the drawing it looked pretty bad. After the ink dried I used the white manga ink from my kit and a brush to touch up the areas and completely get rid of other areas so they could be redrawn.

After I scanned this I took it into Photoshop and cleaned up the lines and took out the areas the white ink had not completely covered up. I attempted to fix the far eye but it fought me so I gave up.

The far eye still is not right but I look at this piece as an exercise to get me working with pens again.
