Saiya-jin Laundry Day

I did the sketch in pencil first. Next came the colour using cheapo coloured pencils. Then I used a fine Sharpie to ink it. Yep, cheapo tools are being used right now.

After scanning, I took it into Photoshop and added the sky (clouds filter) and the title.

The Backstory: This was inspired by a thread on the Nocturne BB. It began with a posted article about the original colour of Gokuh/Kakarotto's namesake, carrots. Carrots were originally purple on the outside and orange on the inside. The mod, m-sama, commented on changing the colour of Gokuh's gi from orange to purple, which immediately got the subject to leap to what was under the gi and what kind of underwear Gokuh and Vejiita would wear. The consensus? Gokuh is a boxers kind of guy and Vejiita would wear nadda.

Then the discussion moved to what pattern would be on the boxers. I mentioned carrots as a pattern, Serenity liked the idea of one "good-sized orange carrot on the front" (naughty, hee!) and Koujo decided to draw the boxers on Gokuh. I liked the idea too, since I can actually draw clothing without a body wearing them and do it in a cartoon style.

So this is my silly intepretation, the laundry day of our two fave monkeys.

The optimized scan does not show the sharpness of either the black lines or the coloured lines.
