The Manga Pose Resource Books have a plethora of great images to find inspiration for fanart and to use for someone's own drawings. Originally, I had tagged the pose for something DBZ but I had never gotten around it. All of a sudden, the pose jumped out at me and the muse said it was supposed to a part of my Gravitation artwork. I wanted to show a tender moment between the two boys, with their clothes still on! S also looks a little more aggressive here, with his arms wrapped possessively around his cranky lover, always a good thing! S's hand is a little large, but to a degree it helps bring E's shoulder a little closer to the viewer. Clothes are difficult to draw so the shirts are simply rendered. Photoshop textures used as screentones for the shirts add an extra dimension to the image. Note: I could have called this "Okaeri", which is the Japanese equivalent for 'welcome home' but I do not believe in using Japanese without also including English. This image won the best fanart category for the 2003 Amazing Kiss Contest. Click to view the prize graphic. |
