| This is the third of the series using a photograph as a background. The photo used is of a sunset I photographed at Laguna Beach, California in 2000. The pose was taken from the brain, without any references except a mirror and my own various body parts. I still did not have much of a handle on the characters at the time of this drawing. I may try to colour this one of these years, so their hair colours will give more of a clue as to the anime/manga universe these people come from. The majority of the pencilwork was done with a #F pencil, with some of the shadows done with a #2B pencil. The chair has a wood texture made with a built-in Photoshop pattern. The
cushion has a bamboo pattern. I have used this same pattern for
the seat cushions throughout this series. The pattern is used as
a background graphic on a tropical fabric website, The Seam Shoppe
is an excellent place to find yummy fabrics with a tropical theme.
