This
is the sixth drawing where I used photographs as part of the background.
No references were used to make this piece. You can see the differences in my current style compared to this past style. I was still developing a style for this universe at the time I made these drawings. What I draw now is much better than this, but these older drawings helped develop the style I have today so they are valid as learning tools to show the progression of my style. S
was an absolute PAIN to draw at that time. The eyes drove me bonkers
and the mouth would not cooperate. The body was 'okay' but nothing
wonderful. The arms were a mess and the fingers, blegh. I declared it completed and signed/dated it, using both the old date and the new date. It is like a 'drawing' dated and a 'drawing's done' date. The drawing was scanned and adjusted so the piece had a stronger contrast than the original drawing. Photos of palm trees taken by the onna in Hawaii and California, were used to add to the background. A Photoshop built-in texture was used for the wood picture frame. The beach chair cushion pattern is a graphic taken from The Seam Shoppe website, an excellent place to find yummy fabrics with a tropical theme. (http://www.tropicalfabricsonline.com) |
