We
know, we know, a lot of people in the fan community
do not like Buruma/Buluma/Bulma.
We are guessing it is because their initial exposure
to her was in the anime and manga,
which pretty much paints her as a loud, annoying,
selfish, self-centered genius. Let's face it, her
creator, Akira Toriyama did not like her either! When
forced by his editor to bring back Bejiita, Mr. Toriyama
decided to to be spiteful. He broke up the fans' favorite
couple at the time, Yamucha and Buruma, and stuck
Bejiita with Buruma. Little did he realize this new
pairing would become so dynamic and intriquing, if
just for the fact so much about the relationship would
remain unknown in the canon. What delicious fodder
for "What If", "How They Got Together"
and "What Do They See in Each Other to Keep Them
Together" stories.
Luckily,
some fans like the Bejiita x Buruma pairing and have
written some excellent fanfic
exploring their relationship. bakayaro onna was lucky
enough to stumble upon some of these
excellent fics when first discovering DBZ fanfic.
It was her initial exposure to lemons as well.
Lemons led to yaoi and the rest is history.
